Homeless Memorial Service

Aurora’s 21st Annual Community Homeless Memorial Service took place on December 9th, 2021 at Trinity United Methodist Church at 5:30 pm. Aurora and our community partners took time to remember those who had passed away while experiencing homelessness. The service was mask mandatory, and a Facebook livestream was provided for those who could not be there physically.

The National Coalition for the Homeless instituted the practice in 1990 and encourages communities across the nation to remember those who have died because of the day to day realities and long-term effects of homelessness. The memorial service was held during the winter months, which marks the beginning of a particularly difficult and dangerous time for people who are homeless.
