Aurora’s Midwest Gingerbread House Competition

To support our mission to prevent and end homeless, Aurora will be hosting its annual Midwest Gingerbread House Competition at the Old National Events Plaza (formerly the Centre) on December 6, 2014. More information coming soon!

Event planning committee members are needed. Learn more!

Unfortunately, due to a major winter storm that hit the Evansville region in December, the 2013 competition was canceled. This was an incredible loss for Aurora. We wish to thank our sponsors, donors, competitors and advocates for their continued support of this event and Aurora!

In 2012, more than 1,400 people came to watch 63 teams build beautiful and amazing gingerbread showpieces on-site. Our sponsors, competitors, and guests helped raise nearly $39,000 for our cause. See 2012 pictures.

For 2014, guests can expect:

  • Potential of 70 teams competing from all over the Midwest to create awesome houses
  • Exciting entertainment acts
  • Fabulous silent auction featuring 150+ items in variety of price ranges
  • A free, fun-filled kid’s gingerbread workshop!

Admission: A financial donation or bring an item to help the homeless

Location: 715 Locust Street, Evansville, Indiana

Time: Open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Showpiece Judging begins at 2:30 p.m.
